Hello everyone, my name is Eddie. I am a freshman
here at ISU and this is the first time I have ever had, or used a blog. To be
honest, I am not really a big fan of blogs but I have never really given them a
chance either. However, I am open to giving blogs a chance and will keep up with
the required posts.
I really like to read and started reading for fun
my senior year in high school. My favorite author is Michael Crichton, I have
read five or six of his books so far and have enjoyed everyone one of them. My
favorite book by his is either the Lost World or Prey. Both of these books were
suspenseful and kept me guessing about what was going to happen next. I also
just got finished reading the Harry Potter series. At first, I thought that the
Harry Potter books were overrated and that everyone was crazy for liking them
so much but after giving the first book a chance, I quickly started enjoying
them.
As far as my writing, in the past I have gotten
pretty good grades when it came to writing essays and papers. I feel pretty
confident in my writing skills and am not scared when it comes time to writing
papers. Research papers will scare me sometimes because if I get a weird topic
it is hard to find good supporting research. But besides the research part, I find
that writing comes pretty natural to me.
I think that English 101 will be a class that will
be different from any other English classes I have taken. I have never been
required to keep a blog for any English class before and am wondering how it
will turn out. All in all, I look forward to this class and hope to improve my
overall English skills. (315)
